Customer Review: Expected more from this item
l bought this item about a month ago. Fast shipping ( as usual).

Easy assembly, looks great BUT what a dragg. lt needs constantly to be refilled with water. The tank is just toooo small.lt can only be filled to half each time so don’t let the look of the tank fool you.

lf you go above half, the water spills out, it is not waterproof on the seal. The noise didn’t bother me at all. lt’s not loud as l thought ( after reading some reviews, i was worried ). lt’s a silent humming to me.

Most scents work well, at least for a few hours.

Overall, good idea to have it near a sink or you walk yourself tired to refill. Nice blue light, soothing. Works well.

Customer Review: The scents don’t seem to work
I don’t really notice the scented oil after the first few moments, so that sort of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it? The citrus does smell like public bathroom deodorizer. I think the only reason I smell it at all is I get some of that oil on my hand when I open the bottle. It’s not easy to squirt the stuff out without making a mess. And the water in mine is lasting too long, which makes me think it’s not evaporating like it’s supposed to. And my water has yet to get dirty. So how is this doing anything it’s advertised to do?

Customer Review: Lovely foliage, shame about the massage!
On the positive side at least it is fairly professionally done, but the actual content seems very flimsy to me, especially the massage which is very superficial indeed. The introduction to the aromatherapy oils is also rather superficial, but I guess it does get across their main point, which seems to be promoting their own products. There's also a long session on self-massage which goes on for far too long. The nicest part, and where they seemed to be on safer ground was the facial…so more of a beauty angle than a serious massage video.

Customer Review: Aroma at it’s best
Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of volatile essences that are extracted from plants. It is one of the most enjoyable treatments to promote well-being and to relieve stress. Customer Review: Good Book
I’m not sure this book is quite what I need. I am looking for recipes. This is nice for a brief overview of aromatherapy, but not quite detailed enough.

Customer Review: something different about essential oils
There are three main sections in this book. The first gives an overview of Traditional Medicine principles. The second part gives a detailed description of the most common essential oils and their effects, not like any aromatherapy book because it incorporates the Chinese Medicine principles as heating, warming, cooling, yin and yang…There is an indication on how to use the oils on some major Chinese acupuncture points. The third part deals with some ailments related to the mind ill health

It is a very different book indeed, and as an Aromatherapist working with cases of stress and anxiety , I am very glad to have added it to my bookshelf.

I already knew that the same oil work differently on different people, now I know why!

Thanks for Amazon, their fast delivery and their huge choice

Elixir of Love

Elixir of Love
Customer Review: Sometimes love stinks..
This was a cute film made no less precious by the addition of Richie Jen as a handsome gardner and Miriam Yeung as the princess with a problem-a peculiar affliction- she stinks. Yes there are the inevitable jokes about bad body odor, and some slapstick comedy revolving around the princess’ suitors and a few inevitable fart jokes, but overall this comedy was quite fun and light-hearted. The perfect antidote to the insipid and insincere hollywood films.

If you enjoy Chinese romantic comedy, this is a fun, light-hearted romp sure to amuse you.

Customer Review: Well recomended!
Was recommended this book by a friend. It's the most complete one I've seen! Very good for reference too. It's so easy to understand what can be mixed with what and how to use the oils and even extract the oils! I'm a beginner at all this but this is a great alround book! The only down side I would say is that I use another book to make sure that the plant I want is correct for there is no colour in the pictures. Hope this helps. Take care all!

Customer Review: Imagine What A Clean Hippie Would Smell Like…
I was instructed to not snoop around the house this year for my Christmas gifts. I couldn’t even look inside my stocking, “For God’s sake, John, you’re almost 42 years old…stop acting like a little kid…” I can’t help it. Oh, sure I probably could help it, it’s just that I didn’t want to. The holidays excite me, enthuse me, they bring out the little kid in me just like this soap does… Huh? How in the heck did he make that leap? I was born in 1965. I grew up around the Hippie Movement. In fact, my father was a Beatnik and my mother was a Hippie, so I guess that makes me a Beepie…or a Heatnik…I like Beepie better…but I always noticed this strange odor coming from my aunt. I asked my dad about it and he just said it was because she was allergic to bathing. How horrible I thought? Imagine being allergic to water! Hey, wait a minute…she was at last year’s pool party and she was in the pool. Come to think of it, there was a brown ring around her the whole time and the next day my dad emptied the pool and we never had a pool party again. But despite her musky scent - that’s being kind to musks - once in awhile she did have this other scent coming from her that actually smelled kind of nice. Patchouli. It’s actually a very pretty scent, but too much of it can be overpowering and all too often, hippies would wear this instead of bathing. Kind of like putting Carpet Fresh on top of the cat litter instead of just emptying out the stuff and starting over. But back to our Christmas story, something was in the air on Christmas Eve. Not, not the freshly burned slice and bake cookies my wife was making, not the little “ornaments” my dog was busy making in the backyard, something hauntingly familiar….PATCHOULLI…I looked all around. Under the couch, under the bed, under my wife…then I realized it was coming from my stocking. I pulled out a bar of Patchouli soap. Nice. Clean. Not overpowering. I put it aside and noticed the other goodies only to sense another presence in the room. “Ahem…” Dang. Almost made it this year. Peace & Blessings, people…may your make this year your “cleanest one” yet!

Customer Review: If you want to use aromatherapy on babies you need this book
The authors bring many years of experience in aromatherapy to the writing of this book. They cover their topics in a clear concise manner yet with enough depth that the reader feels empowered to act. My only criticisms are: The authors selection of oils, though well done, left out a few really important oils and the section on “inhalation” wasn’t as complete as I’d have liked. The section on massage was very well done with excellent photographs. If you are new to using pure essential oils in support of your younger family members health this is a must buy.

Customer Review: Perfect buddy for my son!
Just the right size — big enough to play all kinds of games with, sit on, use as a pillow. Small enough for him to carry around everywhere. Cleans up well in the washer and dryer. Smells good too! We now have 2 since my son brings him everywhere I needed to make sure we always have a spare in case one gets lost. They have been inseparable since his first birthday 2 years ago.

Customer Review: cute but not for infants
This stuffed animal is very cute and soft, plus I like that it has a lavender scent that isn’t too strong (you actually have to put your face up to it to smell this). I got it for my 8 month old son, but I will wait to give it to him since it’s bigger than I thought. I just put it in his crib when he’s awake or not in there so the scent can transfer to his crib, then remove it for bedtime. The fur material is nice and doesn’t “shed” like some other stuffed animals out there even when my son pulls on it or tries to put it in his mouth. I recommend this, but for older kids like maybe at least 2 or 3 yrs old. For now, I’m the one cuddling w/ it at night:)

Veterinary Aromatherapy

Customer Review: Outdated and dangerous
While it is fairly well known in the aromatherapy world that the French tradition is much more aggressive with their use of essential oils (higher concentrations, more internal use of oils) than the English, it should be better known worldwide that essential oils are HIGHLY toxic for cats and birds. A single drop of many essential oils can kill a cat or bird! Grosjean’s book not only recommends the use of undiluted essential oils on cats (which, as we know, are likely to lick off anything put on their fur, this turning a topical application into an internal one), but advocates the use of extremely toxic oils such as sassafras and very strong dilutions (as much as 33% to 50% instead of the more common and safer 1-5%). Grosjean is often referred to as a “woman of passion” - I’d prefer to see her as a woman of reason and caution. We humans can make informed decisions about the use of products dangerous to our health (as smokers and drinkers and junk-food eaters do every single day) but our pets are completely at our mercy. We owe it to them to be cautious and thoroughly educate ourselves on what we intend to do to them. Kristen Leigh Bell’s “Holistic Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy for Animals” is a FAR better and more up-to-date book that I recommend instead of this one.
Customer Review: A totaly animal related aromatherapy book!
Nelly Grosjean has a “classical” approach to Aromtherapy. This book takes the reader directly to the topic at hand, how to care for a cat, dog, horse, bird, and farm animals; using aromatherapy. It is understood by the author that the reader has a background in Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy; pages aren’t spent on basic background subjects. Great resource for animal care.

I was looking at several aromatherapy books before actually buying one. I must have looked at dozens of books..Being a beginner, this was by far the most entertaining and educational book out there on aromatherapy! Many books are very informative, but not a particularly interesting read. In this case, the humour and easy going manner of the book makes you want to read on and on. The chapters are well organized, and there is even a symptom & oil directory. If you are just beginning, this is the book to start your aromatherapy collection!!!!

Aromatherapy - Learn the All Natural Way to Relieve Stress and to Enliven Your Senses

Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy - Learn the All Natural Way to Relieve Stress and to Enliven Your Senses
While this video may be titled Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy, it’s as much about self-massage as it is about treating yourself with essential oils. Valerie Ann Worwood is an excellent guide to the benefits of aromatherapy–using scents to soothe and heal–for the whole family, and the sections on how to give yourself a massage are alone worth the price of this tape.

Worwood begins with the mixing of oils. The video sleeve contains a guide to which oils work for specific desired results (for instance, lemon oil is good for the body and soul, for use as a sedative, and for increasing concentration), and she mixes a few concoctions to illustrate. She then moves on to first aid, healing cuts and burns, stimulating aching feet, and helping a young child fall asleep. Next is aromatherapy in beauty regimes. The face massage is soothing, and she claims it will help release tension, increase circulation, improve texture, and revitalize the face. Scents in baths and showers follow, and then the section on stress, tension, and self-massage. The self-massage is demonstrated slowly enough that it’s easy to follow. Who needs a masseuse? With Worwood as a guide, you can calm the aching muscles of your shoulders, neck, arm, breasts, hip, back, and bottom all by your lonesome (note: there is a bit of nudity in the demonstration). She finishes the video with environmental perfuming–scenting your living space. Warning: after viewing this video you may go overboard on purchasing the oils. But at least you and your home will be pleasingly aromatized. –Jenny Brown

Customer Review: Excellent!!!
This has to be the best aromtherapy DVD there is! I can’t begin to tell you how it has changed my life and understanding and knowledge of essential oils. The absolute best!

Customer Review: Massage and Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy
Valerie Ann Worwood is an expert on the use of essential oils and has written many helpful books on the subject. In this hour-long instruction DVD, she offers advice on the holistic use of a wide variety of essential oils.

Through watching this program you learn to make your own massage oils and then a demonstration is given for a full-body massage while a woman is wrapped in a towel. One section - for a few seconds - shows her from the back which may or may not offend viewers. Otherwise, she is mostly demonstrating arm, shoulder, back and leg massage.

The essential oils discussed include: Lemon, Rosemary, Lavender, Orange, Neroli, Petigrain, Ylang Ylang, Thyme, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Rose, Grapefruit, Geranium, Palma Rosa, Bergamot, Frankinsense, Ginger and Spearmint.

Which oils can you use in a bath?

What will help aching legs or sore feet at the end of the day?

How can you make a healing cream for the entire family?

What will increase overall body tone?

Valerie answers these questions and more. There is a brief face massage section (with ideas on which oils to use for various skin types) and ideas for using sea salts and essential oils in the bath is also explored. This is probably one of the best introductions to using essential oils in every area of your life.

Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Car Diffuser 1 ct
Customer Review: Great car air freshener
I’m surprised this item hasn’t gone “mainstream” yet, it is still somewhat associated with health food stores. This air freshener is as strong or subtle as you want because you add the essential oils. And the fragrances are fantastic - you can find everything from citrus, cinnamon, floral, pine, and blends. This just plugs right into your car’s lighter outlet and is small and unobtrusive. I picked this up because I was tired of those tree and jar shaped car fresheners flapping around long after they had stopped emitting fragrance. Can’t recommend it enough!
Customer Review: better than air freshners
We use this product with essential oils to freshen the car and to keep us alert the natural way. There are no poisonous chemicals.(Since we drive alot ) A great mix for alertness is to add a few drops of cinnamon oil with a few drops of peppermint oil…it works great.

She finishes the video with environmental perfuming–scenting your living space. Warning: after viewing this video you may go overboard on purchasing the oils. But at least you and your home will be pleasingly aromatized. –Jenny Brown

Customer Review: Terribly small amount of aromatherapy on this DVD.
I am not a seasoned professional at aromatherapy but please correct me if I’m wrong on these points: -There was literally more time spent on massaging oneself than on aromatherapy on this DVD -Worwood recommended 30 drops of essential oil per one ounce of carrier oil for facial use. That is a high amount of essential oil for the sensitive facial skin. -Worwood recommended peppermint as an ingredient in facial massage oil. Peppermint can burn/irritate the skin. Why would anyone put it on their face? -She touched the carrier oil bottle against the essential oil bottle when she was mixing them. This “contanimated” the carrier oil which may have gotten a touch of essential oil in it. Why is this a big deal? Think of someone who has critical peanut allergies and you’ll get my point. -She stated that heat is necessary to diffuse essential oil. This is wrong. There are atomizers available. Heat even destroys some of the benefits of many essential oils. Hence the “cold pressed” requirement that even she states. I was pretty disappointed with this video. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Customer Review: Great Introduction
This video provides enough information to begin working with essential oils. Several blends are suggested so that anyone can use the tips in the video. The sections include mixing and blending (very weak section), first aid (good, but very basic), beauty (mostly massage), baths and showers (basic), stress (lots and lots of massage), and aromatherapy in the home (no real information here). There is a lot of information about self-massage that takes up a great deal of time in the video. I didn’t really need to watch a woman give herself a complete body massage. The small chart that is supposed to “give all the information you need” is small and hard to read and says very little about blends of oils. This video is only and introduction, and it is very general.

Hemorrhoids Relief Aromatherapy

Hemorrhoids Relief and Treatment with Aromatherapy
By Donald Urquharts

Aromatherapy currently enjoys steadily increasing popularity as a method of treatment for hemorrhoids these days, but aromatherapy can often be confusing to the average person. What is it? How does it work? Does it even work at all? These are valid questions that should be asked of any regimen of treatment. When properly used and understood, aromatherapy offers beneficial, at home treatment of hemorrhoids.

First, it is helpful to understand precisely what aromatherapy is and is not. Aromatherapy is not magic. It does not imply that merely by sniffing a particular scent your ills will be cured. In point of fact, aromatherapy is a bit of a misleading term. Properly speaking, it should be labeled as plant-based medication that is taken either by inhalation, according to the same principle by which asthma inhalers work, or topically through the skin, just as ointments and creams work. The essential oils used in aromatherapy are medications, and just as chemically complicated and potentially dangerous as any other medications.

In fact, essential oils are generally not oils at all. They are concentrated liquids that are extracted from plants by various means that include simmering, steaming, and condensation. Due to these methods, it generally takes quite a bit of plant matter to equal a proportionally tiny amount of essential oils. Fortunately for one’s pocketbook, essential oils are used only in minute quantities due to their level of concentration. As an example, some studies have shown that essential oil of oregano is such a powerful antiseptic that 1 part oregano oil to 4000 parts water will sterilize the water. It would be impossible to use on a human being undiluted, it would be far too powerful. Therefore, essential oils are always diluted in a carrier oil or water before use. Also, due to the concentration level, essential oils should never be taken by mouth without the supervision of a qualified herbalist who is familiar specifically with aromatherapy.

Essential oils are also usually quite volatile, which means that the active, medicinal chemicals in them evaporate quickly when exposed to air. Therefore, essential oils are kept in tightly closed, dark glass bottles, in pure form, until right before they are to be used. Then, and only then, they are mixed with the carrier that dilutes them to their proper strength. If a prepared blend is left exposed to oxygen for even a day, the actual medication is probably gone. It may still smell nice, and can be used for that purpose, but don’t expect to get the therapeutic effect anymore.

There are two different ways to treat hemorrhoids with essential oils, and these can be used together. The first method involves a shallow bath of hot water. This method should only be done in a bathtub, as the dosages given are not meant for a sitz-bath that fits over the toilet. Run a shallow, hot bath, and sprinkle twenty drops of lavender and twenty drops of juniper essential oils. Swish through the water with your hand to make sure that they are well mixed in the water, and soak for twenty minutes. To use the other method, you’ll also need a carrier oil of some kind. The most popular carrier oil for aromatherapy is sweet almond oil, but apricot oil also works well. In a pinch, the vegetable oil that is used for baking can work, but this is not optimal as it is practically guaranteed to have some impurities. Blend two drops of lavender and one drop of geranium oil with one ounce of the carrier oil, and apply to the area as you would an ointment.

Always test yourself for allergies to essential oils by diluting one drop in a small amount of carrier oil and dabbing it on the inside of your elbow. Leave it there for twenty-four hours and check closely for a reaction. If you are allergic to an essential oil, it is important to know before applying it to such a sensitive and tender area of your body. In addition, should you start to have any skin reactions during treatment, immediately cease all aroma therapeutic treatments immediately, along with anything else you’ve been placing on your skin. Given these cautions, however, aromatherapy has offered relief and treatment to many people who are suffering from hemorrhoids. In combination with a diet and lifestyle change, these aromatherapy treatments should clear up the problem in no time.

Mr. Urquhart, Chief writer and editor for a number of health websites, writes extensively about hemorrhoids covering hemorrhoids treatment and internal and external hemorrhoids and much more. Aromatherapy can help. Always discuss the information with your health professional.
