Customer Review: This book blossoms!!
I received this book as a gift. I am a healer and frankly, I didn’t think I would learn a thing. But the photographs were so appealing that I started flipping through it. To this day, (I’ve been reading it over and over for about a year now) I learn something or garner an idea that absolutely inspires me. I have now transformed my entire yard with the influence of this book. At least four groups of people stop on a daily basis and are so attracted to my yard that they are drawn to stop and tell me. I am extremely impressed with Ms. Rawlings ability to include so much factual information about so many subjects and to align her knowledge of the subjects with gardening in general. I think the book is brilliant, well-researched and obviously comes from the heart of a garden lover.
Customer Review: BEAUTIFUL PICTURES
The book contains beautiful pictures and lots of great information on plants for the experienced gardener. I think that to many subjects were covered in one book. Each of the areas adressed in the book could have been an entire book in itself. This book assumes that the reader has a workable knowledge of plants. Not a book for a beginner. Not worth the price that I paid.

Customer Review: Certainly a Must Have!!
I have recently completed Level 1 of an Aromatology certificate, and my class is jam packed with lots of information. I was given this book as a gift - and it’s the gift that keeps on giving! This book is fulled with useful content; properties of oils, common ailments, suggested treatment methods, and also includes a strong section for massage. This book as been an wonderful resource, and will help anyone regardless if you are pursing certification or not. It will definately help you to enrich your life with some natural solutions! Enjoy!
Customer Review: Comprehensive and practical guide to aromatherapy!
This book is *excellent*! Really detailed and comprehensive. It includes: 1. A section on how aromatherapy can be practiced at home (lotions/treatment oils/steams/perfume blending/proportions — and more!) 2. A detailed section on massages and carrier oils 3. Info on medicinal/clinical aromatherapy 4. A very comprehensive section on common conditions that can be treated by aromatherapy 5. A detailed section on the essential oils themselves (e.g. functions/characteristics/safety data/smell). 6. Brief appendix about vitamins and essential oil chemistry I’ve seen her other bestselling book (The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Essential Oils) — and although that book is also an excellent info source (165 oil profiles+brief theraputic index), it is “too” broad for me. The bulk of that book is oil profiles, and it contains profiles on many oils I won’t use and won’t be able to find in stores (although, of course, it also contains profiles on every common oil you can imagine). I would consider buying it if I need a comprehensive essential oil guide in the future. I prefer this book (The Complete Illustrate Guide to Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy) because it covers a broader area and is practical; it’s well written, pleasant on the eyes (great-to-read layout) and interesting, with useful info on many areas (e.g. recipes as well as oil info). Although this book does not contain as many oil profiles, the content of the profiles are 90% the same as her other book, which does the job for me. The photos and illustrations are beautiful, too! : ) Superb reference for beginners or pros.
