Customer Review: the encyclopaedia of essential oils
I have the repint of this book ( published in Great Britain in 1992) and as a certified Aromatherapist and Reflexologist have found this book very helpfull. I have not seen the new one so I can’t say about it. The older one (1992)was for someone that has experience with the oils and wanted a quick guide for Family, Actions, anf Principal Constituents of the oils. This is a book for someone that is wanting to go beond the every day use of Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy
Customer Review: Elementary, good for pictures. Not as advanced as Worwood.
The research ability of this book is not set up as well as some. The information also is not as advanced or as extensive as some other authors. My preference would be Worwood over Lawless.

Customer Review: A Fantastic Candle
I bought a Plantlife Tangerine & Lavender a few weeks ago to try out. I love candles and most of the ones I buy smell good but don’t last very long or they lose their scent. This candle however does not! I have been burning this candle a lot for the last few weeks and it has the other ones beat! The wonderful scent has stayed the same since I bought it and it seems like I’ve barely used it because its lasted so long!! I’m very happy with this product and will buy in the future. I can’t wait to try out the other scents!!
Essential Chemistry for Safe Aromatherapy
This book provides a straightforward and accurate account of the key theoretical aspects of chemistry and their application into the safe practice of aromatherapy. For readers with a limited science background, this book offers a clear and concisely written guide to essential information in chemistry. For practitioners, the book applies chemistry to the practical and therapeutic use of essential oils, and leads to a better understanding of composition, properties and technical data related to essential oils.

Customer Review: Not awful, but not good
I found that this work included a number of interesting concepts, however, it fell short of the expectation its title sets: An understanding of the science that can lead practitioners to providing safe aromatherapy. Many essential oils have been subjected to intensive scrutiny by such organizations as RIFM. This book includes few references to this critical body of work. Many of the resources it quotes do not themselves have references; therefore readers don’t know if recommendations are based on research, on a given author’s experience, or urban legend. The book’s recommendations and advice draw from all three categories. The book also includes some emphasis on a non-standard approach to essential oil chemistry, relying on the evaluation of two qualities and drawing conclusions based on the assumptions of this minimal evaluation. The book is informal and accessible. Sometimes the tone changed from chatty to pedantic; not a fatal flaw, but an irritant. The consequences of misunderstanding essential oils can be painful (witness those suffering from burns and allergies from the use of undiluted irritants and sensitizers). Therefore practitioners should have a solid understanding of the underlying science of aromatherapy; then those who like the theories of a few fringe folks can virtuously “go on” to study with their gurus. Sadly, this book is not one that will give folks the broad scope of real science leading to safe use of aromatherapy.
