The Pampered Pregnancy Bliss Box: An Aromatherapy Kit for Wellness and Comfort

Despite the popular notion that women look and feel marvelous during pregnancy, the body actually goes through extraordinary hormonal changes, dramatic emotions, and challenging physical strains at this time. Containing a 32-page guidebook, aromatherapy recipes, a 60-minute relaxation audio CD, and two scented candles in travel tins, The Pampered Pregnancy Bliss Box helps expectant mothers navigate these changes. Topics include back pain, morning sickness, stretch marks, indigestion, nausea, cramps, and exhaustion; preparing for the birth; essential oils for the delivery room; breast care and breastfeeding; and postpartum depression (with a recipe for postpartum “pick-me-up” oil).

Customer Review: Great Book for Preggies
I’m really enjoying this book — it’s practical, educational, and easy to understand. It’s so slim you can read it in one sitting, but it’s full of useful information. The beginning is dedicated to explaining a bit about aromatherapy during pregnancy. Most importantly, it lists the oils not to use during this time, as a number of oils may be harmful to the baby. The book then lists the different ways to use oils (steam, bath, etc. — you can skip over this if, like me, you’ve been practicing for some time). Then there are recipes for all the great stuff that happens during pregnancy — morning sickness, nausea, backache, swelling, etc. There’s also a recipe for preventing stretch marks. The author swears that no woman she’s ever used the blend on has ever gotten stretch marks. Now, I’m a skeptic at heart, but I’m also vain, so I’ve been using it. I’ve found the backache and varicose veins/swelling recipes to be incredibly helpful. There are also recipes to use during labor, which I plan to use when the time comes. I’ve actually been very disappointed with the lack of pregnancy/aromatherapy books out on the market (I’ve only found this one and one other that’s proven to be pretty disappointing). This kit brings two nice candles and CD (that I haven’t heard so can’t comment on). This book, though, is proving to be indespensible.

Customer Review: beautiful
I give this book four stars because of the beautiful artwork and wonderful recipes. Very beautifully illustrated and simple to follow. However I have one complaint: most of the herbal recipes call for mugwort which I cannot find. I haven’t yet tried any of the recipes in here because of that but in my opnion it is very original and definitely a keeper.
Customer Review: Making Herbal Dream Pillows
Wonderful book! Jim Long has done alot of research into the origins of the pillows. Very informative compact book.

Customer Review: The Voices of Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy
Bound to become a timeless classic in the field of aromatherapy The World of Aromatherapy‘>Aromatherapy is a beautiful treasure to have. Among the many noted contributing authors are Jeanne Rose, Valerie Worwood, Shirley Price, Victoria Edwards, and Mindy Green to name a few. The book covers a wide variety of subjects~ distillation, hydrosols, the science of essential oils, case studies, botany, skin care, perfumery, pregnancy and essential oil profiles among other subjects. There is also an interesting chapter on Synthetic vs. natural oils as well as a beautiful chapter titled: Bathing in the Souls of Flowers. A great addition to any aromatherapy library.
Customer Review: THE WORLD OF AROMATHERAPY/jeanne rose
I found this collection of essays by 35 of the best known names/teachers in aromatherapy to be excellent. Here is information written with verve and style about distillation, hydrosols, aromatic chemistry, botany, ancient Egyptian embalming with essential oils and unguents. A fabulous skin care chapter is followed by a delicious essay by Barbara Bobo ‘bathing in the souls of flowers’, there is an entire section on nurturing yourself through pregnancy with essential oils and how to take care of children with the correct essential oils. How can you miss the blending essential oils for personal perfumery or the culinary part, teaches how to use essential oils to flavor and fragrance foods. The oilss themselves are mentioned and several important case studies using the essences are included. There is a great section on business and research for those who want to start an aromatic business and do aromatherapy consultations. And lastly, a 14 year old high school student shows you how to set up an aromatherapy project to proove or disprove that it works. And of course there is a great source list and bibliography. Jeanne Rose is fantastic, her co-editor too. This is a great book.
